HARBOR BAY 10

This is the road that leads you back out of this part of the lake. There are many trees and animals. The thing I look for the most are the rocks. If you are not careful the rocks are being eroded away from the mountain each second of the day. I don't normally look for the security part but more for the size, shapes and colors. I wonder how long they have been here? What has been on top of them and what has been underneath them? I know that this area has many herbivores that compete for the food web and same as the carnivores with the food chain.

I don't know that water has ever covered this road to the back of these mountains back here. At least not in the last 25 years. This mountain is good for a small hike and a great view.


This used to be a boat dock. The water was really up to here. All of the grassy area and red mud road have been within the last 5-10 years. The water just keeps receeding further and further every year. This little cove used to keep you free from the wind besides what the boats brought up with them and the waves.

The shore of racing waters. Just imagine how the water feels in the hot summer. The shore is obviously not sandy like a beach anymore, but there are many seashells still brought up to the surface. I have always been taught to wear water shoes and I have always had the best of times even just walking through the shallow area.

All of the red clay used to be covered in water. Now you can see the plants that fill the area. There are many layers of this particular area that can be observed. There are also different heights that are apparent. I am not sure that there are to many herbivores that compete for this type of plant to eat.

HERBIVORE- an animal that eats plants and grass.

This is a picture of the different layers on this particular mountain. Weathering and erosion are obviously taking place and by the looks they have been doing so for many years. The top is filled with a region of plants and animals.

Here is the sign when you first come down the intertwined road. This just lets you know which location of the lake you are at. Usually across from this sign there are more signs of rules and regulations as well as maps.

All of this area used to be under water. The roads, grass, trees and more have come into existence since the water levels have been low. I remember when I wasn't aloud to swim to where the trees are.

This pictures shows the beauty of this complete area. There are many different types of plants and animals that travel among the land and water in this habitat.

PLANTS-any group of living organisms, excluding animals, distinguished as a tree or a shrub.

ANIMALS- any group of living organisms, excluding plants and human beings.

HABITAT- a region where a plant or animal lives.

HARBOR BAY 3

This is another niche I found on the same mountain. This niche is not as closed in and so the host will be easily seen. These niches are carved from the famous red clay (mountains) that are all over the Panhandle area.

HOST- anyone who occupies or keeps a place.

HARBOR BAY # 4

I thougth of this place as a small cave. It is possible for you to actually go inside and remain comfortable and out of view. The host of this niche is able to go in for warmth, safety, spy on the other members in the food chain and much more.

A NICHE- an especially suitable place or position, a recess in a wall.

A HOST- anyone who specifically occupies or keeps a space.
